Deployment Diagram needs minor improvement Hi,
I'm trying to use the Deployment Diagram to model server clusters. My difficulty is that the the server cluster is in active-passive mode and therefore, a grouping element is required. In a simple 2 node-cluster, I would model 2 Node instances. To denote the active-passive cluster, I would have to do either of the following: 1) draw a group/ boundary around the 2 node instances 2) use another (composite) node instance to contain the 2 node instances Using the former poses issues as the group/ boundary element cannot be used to realize or depend on interfaces ![]() The more correct way is to use the latter where the composite node will be able to realize or depend on interfaces. However node-in-node isn't supported in Astah ![]() Anyone has any better suggestions? Or should this be a feature request? Thanks! |

Re: Deployment Diagram needs minor improvement Hi Johannes,
Thanks for your post. We are sorry that there are no good suggestions for you to achieve what you would like to with current Astah. We have added your request about "nodes within nodes" in Deployment diagram on our wish list and will consider implementing in the future. Thanks again, Johannes. Cheers, Satomi |
