Unable to save diagram I have an Evaluation license and am unable to save any diagrams or projects. I get the message "This project has been locked or not writable".
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: Unable to save diagram Hi Lanie,
Thank you for trying out astah*. This message appears when the project is opened by someone else or yourself on another astah*. So when you try to save a file, please make sure that the project you are trying to save is not opened by anyone else or on another astah* at the same time. To avoid this in the future, you can change the system property setting. Go to [Tool] - [System Properties] and select [File] on the left list. Check off [Set a lock when opening a project file] option and click [Apply] - [OK]. Hope this helps. Cheers, Satomi |

Re: Unable to save diagram I just downloaded the community version 6.3 and have the same problem. I tried your fix but the contents of the file folder does not have that option.

Re: Unable to save diagram Hi, thank you for downloading astah* community 6.3.
This option is available only in astah* professional and astah* UML editions. Does astah* give you any alert dialog when you fail saving a file? If so, what does it say? Also let us know the environment that you run astah* on such as OS, Java version etc. Your log file can be found in USER_HOME\.astah\community\astah_com.log Thanks. Satomi |

Re: Unable to save diagram IPlease find the lob for Windows Vista (32 bit) here. I will post the Windows 7 (64 bit) log tonight. I want to use this for my CS I class and am just doing a trial run first. It seems to simple yet powerful enough to carry the class through the semester. I do have JRE 1.6 on both computers.

Re: Unable to save diagram Thank you for your prompt response.
Here are a couple of more questions we would like to ask. Q1. So do you get "This project has been locked or not writable." message when you try to save a file? Q2. If you get different message, what does it say? Q3. Does this happen to a specific project file only? or every time you try to save other files as well? Thanks. Satomi |

Re: Unable to save diagram Thanks for clarifying the points.
Changing the folder to save a file may solve this issue. Because this alert appears if you do not have a security permission on the folder, where you want to save your file, to write or if it is read-only. So please make sure that you have security permission on the folder, where to save a file, to write and then try again. Hope this helps. If you are still unable to save a file, please let us know. Thanks. Best regards, Satomi |
